A Common Passion For Change With Solar Energy Sources
There is a worldwide passion for change with solar energy. The economy practically fell apart in many parts of the world causing many to consider alternative projects. This, along with a growing trend for green products that promise environmentally friendly production and systems has created this increase in desire for renewable sources for electricity and other products.
The first decline in primary energy consumption since 1982 happened in 2009. The lower levels were a big issue for those promoting alternative sources. Since 2004 there has been an increase in the use of renewable sources, including wind and solar power systems. The primary source is expected to drop about five percent over the next couple of decades.
Higher prices for fuel has made many people and governments stop and take a serious look at different alternative sources. Even though prices fluctuate, they often go up much faster than they come down. This continued high level of prices encourages the world to keep looking at other sources for needed energy.
As the economy recovered, the demand for the primary sources increased; however, the damage has been done regarding negative attention towards these sources. The advent of wars, rumors of wars, and high prices, the focus has been on finding a way to supply cities and homes with enough electricity through the renewable sources.
The extended focus on alternative energy has turned into a global awakening. Whenever the prices seemed to begin to fall, something would happen in the international scene that caused them to quickly rise again. Instead of relying on resources that would eventually run out, with prices that were tied to so many volatile systems, people are still looking for independence from oil and coal.
Incentive programs are appearing all over the globe as governments push legislation that promotes renewable resources. These actions used to take global treaties, but are now being done unilaterally. These programs provide tax deductions and reduced prices for installations of the systems for conversion and new installation of solar panels. When on the grid, the consumer is often able to save enough to more than pay for the installation costs.
The green resources for electricity is usually provided by having panels installed on the home that are made of PV, or photovoltaic cells. These are often seen in banks of panels across rooftops. They convert the sun’s energy directly into electricity. These along have enjoyed an increase in use by over 100 percent since 2004. With power companies often buying the excess electricity, government incentive programs, and the popularity of green resources, they continue to enjoy market growth.
The recession has provided an opportunity for rapid expansion in an area that is already popular. The passion for change with solar energy has taken off and no one is looking back. With the high prices over the last decade, coupled with the recession, governments and consumers do not want to continue to be permanently tied to oil as the main resource any longer.
