How a Unique Selling Proposition Helps You Sell Your Products

Running an online business is based on your ability to best serve your target market. It doesn’t really matter what your niche might be; it doesn’t even really matter what kind of solution you offer to your customers; what matters most of all for your success is how well you can set yourself apart from your competitors while you help the people who spend money on you. The reason why so many online businesses start and fail at achieving any big success is because they don’t focus on identifying their product’s unique selling point or proposition. It’s really important to know where your product stands in the market and how your target audience views it. Identifying your USP is what will help you make as much as possible from your business in the long run.

Help Customers Save Money: Figuring out how to save money for others with your product will help you figure out your USP. This works in every niche (pretty much) and with just about every product. If your USP can convince your clients that your customers will save more money with you than with your competition, it’s the one you want to go with. Do not make the mistake of creating a cheap product, though: have some real balance.

List Out the Benefits: Identifying your product’s USP is all about knowing your product perfectly. No matter what your product might be, first work on your USP by making a list of all of the benefits that you offer with your product. List out these benefits on a piece of paper and sort them out so that you get closer to the biggest benefit. Then once you’ve got that done, mark out the benefits that aren’t that big. This will lead you to the major advantage that your product gives your customers, which can turn out to be your USP – as simple as that. Don’t really rush into this; try to look at the product from all angles so that you have a really firm grasp on your benefits.

Your Customer Service Must be Great – You may not realize this, but having prompt and truly helpful customer service can be your business’s USP. Many companies have built impressive reputations on the way they serve and respond to customers on a daily basis. When you make the effort to deliver products quickly and answer your customers’ questions promptly, word will soon get out that you’re one of the “good guys” in your niche, and you’ll easily attract more customers who heard about your reputation. Customer service is one area where you should never compromise, as the future of your business depends on it.

In summary, from the above article we can clearly come to understand how any online business, regardless of the niche, can identify their product’s USP and use it sell more, and grow. If you’re wondering what you should use as your product’s USP, and aren’t sure where to start, simply choose the feature that offers the largest advantage. You may want to alter or make improvements on your USP sometime, but work with what you have now.
