Reborn Affiliate Marketing

There has been concern lately among the affiliate marketing community about those members who have recently been banned by Google from using Adwords. Some have even gone so far as to declare it is the death of affiliate marketing on Google. Some industries have slashed the number of advertisers as a result of the Adword ban. Others are under the impression that Google is or is going to be banning any and all affiliate marketers from using its advertising service.

Some advertisers have been banned for life, its true. But first take into consideration the reasoning behind such an exlusion. Don’t jump to conclusions and assume Google wants to get rid of all affiliate marketers. But it does appear they are targeting a very narrow group of advertisers. It would be silly to assume other wise, as many affiliate marketers thrive on Google, as is evidenced by sales records.

To be more specific, all the advertisers who were banned had one thing in common. They either promoted or were suspected of promoting an opportunity product or “bizz-opp.” Using Google’s name in the search engine is not cool and is obviously an attempt to take advantage by using it as a keyword, building on the stronghold of the name.

Although some affiliate marketers can swear their material has nothing to do with using the brand name, it is offensive to Google and can lead to banishment. It leaves the playing field wide open for lawsuits and litigation attorneys to protect the good name of Google.

Good non-affiliate advertisers have been banned as well, which doesn’t seem fair. Unfortunately, the wide reaching search for culprits touches the innocent bystanders as well. Google is still willing to accept payments from affiliate marketers, but are very cautious. Adding “reviews” as an afterthought may help the cause of the advertiser and the business opportunity.

You don’t need a product review website to use Adwords, but Google is set on recruiting new advertisers. It appears Google is creating its own Affiliate Network, which means publishers who have already published a lot of content on a topic could be eligble. Its a reality, they are still actively selling most of its space to affiliates, due to the fact being many affiliates own websites that contain lots of information on a particular topic.

Truthfully, Google is mindful of those marketers who are shoddy, crafty and tend to generalize. They do not want to put those affiliates in the same catergories as the ones they trust. Its too soon to announce its the end of Affiliate Marketing on Google as we know it, just because a few bad apples have been banned from using Adwords.
